Ski Aspen

If you choose to ski Aspen this winter, you get four epic mountains on one lift ticket and you'll be in what's possibly America's best known ski resort that's named by many as the very best in North America! The town of Aspen has immense charm, a former mining town with a blend of Victorian architecture, modern hotels and first class restaurants.

The ski area of Aspen consists of four mountains all included on one lift pass with ski terrain to suit everyone. Colorado is often said to be the best US ski area and Aspen is the best of Colorado's ski areas.

Aspen Mountain rises right from the town of Aspen so there is skiing close by with 'ski in ski out' lodging options. Aspen Mountain, known to the locals as Ajax is also host to many events throughout the season including the FIS Alpine World Cup and live concerts to keep you entertained after the skiing. Access has been developed even further with the addition of a new Gondola to get you to Aspen's steeps, bumps and gladed skiing keeping the more advanced skiers and snowboarders entertained who prefer to venture off-piste.

Snowmass is the largest of the ski areas and used to be the main destination for families visiting Aspen.The ski area has something for everyone with a vertical drop of 1343 metres in an area of 1267 hectares. This year Snowmass will make an excellent base for all visitors with a major development, the new base village area, due for completion for the 2008-9 season.

Aspen Highlands, the local's favourite, offers seemingly endless challenging terrain and a wide variety of groomed cruisers. The Highland Bowl has a summit at 3777 metres and the Cirque is one of the most famous off-piste hikes in North America.

Buttermilk hosts the ESPN Winter X Games in it's legendary terrain park however it's rolling pistes are more suited to beginners and families.
